Hi everybody!!
Hows uni? Im sure everybody is getting busy with assignments, but hey, Easter is here!! Next week gonna be the last week before the breaks. Yeayy!!!
And MSA has planned something to fill that gap. First of all, Sport Carnival, which will be held on 7th & 8th of April 2007. This carnival is collaboration between Malaysia Students Associations from Macquarie Uni, UTS, Uni Syd & UNSW. Lotsa games are lined up for this carnival, including soccer (mind ya, football is another game which we call rugby in Malaysia), netball, basketball, badminton, tennis and volleyball. The carnival is planned as follow;
Date- 7th April (Saturday)
Time- 10PM- 4PM
Vanue- Moore Park (Field 17&18)
Games- Soccer
Date- 8th April (Sunday)
Time- 8AM- 5PM
Vanue- Uni Syd Aquatic Centre
Games- Basketball, netball, badminton, volleyball & tennis.
Trainings have been carried out throughout these two weeks and will continue till the carnival. If you are interested to play in any game, but haven't join the team, contact MSA's Sport Director (Jonathan Leung) for more information. If you not playing, you can always come for the games and support our teams. There will be more information on this matter from time to time. Watch this space!
As for Dance Party, the event will be held on that very Sunday, 8th April 2007. The theme for the night is LUSH, and it's gonna be held at one of Sydney's famous pub, ROOF BAR, at Castlereagh Street. This is an opportunity for you to escape from the uni works and have fun. What's better than spending a night out with your buddies on Easter Sunday, and sleep the whole day on Easter Monday? Tix are on sale for $15 from now. You can get it from MSA Committee members. Get it A.S.A.P. before its sold out. You can still get the tix at the door, but with extra $5...i.e. $20. Why should you waste $5 if you can save it and use it to buy drinks that night? Hurry up..get the tix now!

~PhotoHunt~

G'day mates!

Wassup? How was your uni? Can't believe it..we are now in second week of uni! Things are catching up pretty fast. And last Monday was amazing! Sataylicious was a successful, despite some unforseen legislations and technical problems. Thanks for those who turned-up and for those missed it, we are sorry for the problems occured.

Anyway, the next activity lined-up for MSA members is the Photo-Hunt. The concept is the same as Treasure Hunt, but instead of finding something, what you need to do taking pictures. You will be given a campus map, questions that u need to solve and the answers will bring you to the place and you need to take picture of you and your friends there. It is that easy! The first three groups which come first will win hampers from MSA. It's gonna be fun!!
So don't forget about it- this Saturday morning, 10 March 2007 at 11AM, at Lighthouse Theatre (in front of the Gym). Don't forget to bring along your digital camera and drag along your friends! It's such a good way to spend a Saturday...splendid!

Sataylicious is back!!

Hey mates!

Wassup? How's the O-Week been? I'm pretty sure everybody had great time strolling around the Central Courtyard this week and signing up for the clubs you are interested in (and collecting the free goodies). For those MSA new members, welcome and thanks for joining us. There are heaps of activities have been planned for this year, and for sure, heaps of fun awaiting us!

And the first activity for this semester is the Welcoming BBQ, or as i put it, Sataylicious. We gonna have heaps of satay that day, so make sure you don't miss it. Other than that, we are also gonna have heaps of BBQ chicken, popiah a.k.a. spring rolls and roti jala. With these will come their special sauces. Thanks to our two Iron Chefs- Norzie (who is also the Social Director I) and Khairunisa, our most active member (we should award her The Most Active Member...activate yourself...yeah!!)

For those who are not familiar with Malaysian food, satay consists of chunks or slices of meat on bamboo or coconut leaf spine skewers, which are grilled over a wood or charcoal fire. Turmeric is often used to marinate satay and gives it a characteristic yellow color. It is served with a spicy peanut sauce dip, or peanut gravy, slivers of onions and cucumbers, and ketupat. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satay).

It's gonna be a whole lot new experience for you that you should not miss this out. Well, it's free food, who wanna miss it? It's free for members, and if you have friends who are not members but interested to join the BBQ, they still can come, but have to pay Au$5. And if they are having great time there, they can join MSA!

So don't forget to mark it down in your diary- Monday, 5 March 2007 at SAMBar during lunch hour till 3pm. Write it in red and also put it in your PDA and phone's reminder. It's gonna be huge...FREE food, deadly delicious food...it's SATAYLICIOUS!
