THE Big Day!

hi all!

Here's one of the important things that you should know when you're studying in Australia; the public holiday! According to this website:

"Australia Day, January 26, is the biggest day of celebration in the country and is observed as a public holiday in all states and territories.

On Australia Day we come together as a nation to celebrate what's great about Australia and being Australian. It's the day to reflect on what we have achieved and what we can be proud of in our great nation.

It's the day for us to re-commit to making Australia an even better place for the future."

There will be numerous events all day tomorrow from as early as 6 a.m in the morning! So don't miss this chance to experience Australia in a day (terms & conditions apply ;P). For more info on the celebrations in Sydney, hop into their website!

For some reason I like watching the TV ad. You can check it out here!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday guys!

The only sports...

Hello!

Have you ever wondered what we usually do during weekends? Well, we the Lower West Siders of MUV enjoy doing things we love to do. Last weekend, Galven, Diren, Rickman, Sunny, Azan, Kamal and I spent some awesome time at Macquarie Uni Golf Driving Range for a few swing.

While others practicing their swings and position, we the more "advance" golfers decided to do something less complicated - aim it at the ducks. Shots by shots were taken to no avail until there is no duck left to aim at. Then, something interesting happened - we saw birds flying happily in the sky. "Sweeeettt!", we say. But not until we realised that we ran out of balls. Being economically efficient or in another word cheapskate, we picked up any balls we can grab in 1 metre radius. haha

This was not the case for our star player, Galven whom thanks to him, attracted others to come and see us playing in our own little, secluded dreamland. For those who want to learn golfing, you can either contact Mr President for personal training :P, or alternatively, sign up for 8-week courses organised by MUSR at just $90. For more info visit musr.mq.edu.au

Now I know why there is no golf competition in Sports Carnival. Because if there is one, MSA is going to win it......for sure ;D.

N-E-U-V-O!

Yo people!

A little news from downunder..yes if you stand straight and look down from Malaysia, you'll be looking at us here..common sense people!

ok that's lame..

anywho, the word for today is 'neuvo' which means 'new' in spanish..so what's 'neuvo' in MQ, you ask? lets see if you can spot it in this picture below:
did you manage to find it? ok here's a close-up..
how bout now? still no clue??? for emo sake people! here's the answer:

This is not the only change..Sam Shop is now U@MQ Shop and all the wallpapers have been changed..as for SamBar I don't bother to check but I bet the name have changed too..so who wants to grab a drink at U@MQ Bar?..oh boy that's so not cool anymore!

I've check the website..it's under construction and it kills my eyes ---> www.sam.org.au but again I reckon the URL is going to be changed too..

that's not all..our central courtyard is under renovation too..details can be found here
which results in less and less grassy area to cut the cost of hiring gardener..haha just kidding..not like we always lie on the grass anyway..that's so not us! :P

You see, there are so many neuvo things here in Sydney. For those who are going back here soon, if there's nothing neuvo bout you, we have two words for you:

You-are-not Cool! :P

A Night in MQ...

Today I saw a group of guys playing basketball near the gym...

at night time...

at 10.30 pm...

with barely enough light to see...

3 reasons came into mind...

one: they are bunch of writers on strike lost their way in Macquarie

two: they were forced to practice because their parents hope that they can make it into NBA

three: they are just happy to enjoy their time together that they forgot it's already late

Enjoy your holiday with all the important people in your life and make it worthwhile!
